CIRCULAR WALK & TRAIN RIDE

Step into Cornwall’s railway heritage with a spring walk that blends stunning scenery, local history, and a nostalgic train ride.

Join us for a guided circular walk from Trannack to Truthall Halt Station, taking in the breathtaking Cober Valley Viaduct and the historic cleared track bed along the way.

Led by Marcus Laugher of Helston Railway, you’ll discover the stories behind this lovingly restored line as you stroll through the Cornish countryside to Truthall Halt — where your train will be waiting.

The walk itself is fairly short and relaxed, taking around 1 hour each way, including time to stop, chat, and enjoy the surroundings. Please note that the route can be muddy, and there is some light clambering over footpaths, so sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are essential. Anyone infirm or unable to manage uneven ground is very welcome to meet the group directly at Truthall Halt Station instead.

From Truthall, sit back and enjoy a return heritage train ride to Prospidnick, soaking up the charm of traditional rail travel.

And to top it all off? A well-earned cream tea or cake at the Helston Railway Carriage Café — included in your ticket (whether you’re planning to indulge or not!).

The event is expected to finish between 3:30pm and 4:00pm.

Dogs on leads are very welcome (special dog ticket £1), and children are welcome too, making this a lovely family-friendly day out.

Importantly, £10 from every ticket sold will go directly towards supporting the Helston Railway, helping to preserve this special piece of Cornish heritage.
