CIRCULAR WALK & TRAIN RIDE

Step into Helston’s railway heritage with a spring walk that blends stunning scenery, local history and a nostalgic train ride.

Join us for a guided circular walk from Trannack to Truthall Halt Station, via the Cober Valley Viaduct and along the recently cleared track bed to Truthall Halt, where your train will be waiting. From Truthall, sit back and enjoy a return heritage train ride to Prospidnick, and then top it all off with a cream tea or cake at the Helston Railway Café – included in your ticket (whether you’re planning to indulge or not).

The walk itself is fairly short and relaxed, taking around one hour each way, including time to stop, chat and enjoy the surroundings. Please note that there will be some clambering over stiles and along muddy footpaths, so sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are essential. Anyone infirm or unable to manage uneven ground is very welcome to meet the group at Truthall Halt Station instead at around 1pm.

The event is expected to finish between 3:30pm and 4:00pm.
And to top it all off? A well-earned cream tea or cake at the Helston Railway Carriage Café — included in your ticket (whether you’re planning to indulge or not!).

Dogs on leads are very welcome (special dog ticket £1) and children are welcome too, making this a lovely family-friendly day out.

Importantly, £10 from every ticket sold will go directly towards supporting the Helston Railway, helping to preserve this special piece of Cornish heritage.
